The house sits at 11,000 feet above sea level (3352 meters). If you are not used to this altitude, we recommend taking it easy until you are acclimated. Drinking plenty of water and not exerting yourself too hard will help with this adjustment.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

We're proudly pet friendly. Read our guide for traveling with dogs in Fairplay. Up to 2 dogs are permitted during a stay. there will be an additional charge for a dog (we do extra cleaning between pet stays) and they must be well behaved and on a leash outside of the house. We kindly ask that your pet does not sit on the furniture. We regret that due to allergies cats are not permitted.

CAN I HAVE MY ELOPEMENT OR MICRO-WEDDING AT ELF HAUS?

Absolutely. Elopements have become one of our favorite things to host. The property is private, surrounded by forest and mountain views, and photographs beautifully in every season. Whether you want a simple ceremony for just the two of you or a small gathering of your closest people, this space was made for moments like that.

Colorado is also one of the few self-solemnization states in the country, meaning you can legally marry without an officiant — and the Park County Clerk's office for your marriage license is right here in Fairplay. We're happy to help with recommendations for local photographers and vendors who know the area well. Your dog is welcome too.

It depends on what you see as your perfect getaway. adventures and relaxation are possible year-round at the Elf Haus.

Summer and fall are conducive to festivals, hiking, running, and fishing, as well as relaxing in a chair or hammock outside.

Winter and spring are geared toward skiing, snow sports, and cozying up by the fireplace.
