A Fully Renovated 1977 A-Frame, Designed by Colorado Talent

The Elf Haus began as a 1977 A-frame in the pines outside Fairplay. It kept its original footprint but was completely renovated into the modern mountain retreat you see today. Boulder-based Workshop 8 led the architectural design. Sable House Interiors of Crested Butte guided the interior design and furnishing. Original work by Colorado artists Dolan Geiman, in the kitchen, and Scott Bullock, in the upstairs bedroom, gives the cabin a sense of place. Read the Elf Haus feature in Dwell.
